Survived by his sisters Mrs Florence Krebs, Mrs Dorothy Hartman and his brothers, all in the service: in Hawaii: PO John Macher; in Illinois: Pvt. David Macher; and in China: Corp. Walter Macher. He had previously worked at the Curtiss-Wright plant in Beaver Co, PA. He died a few days before his 31st birthday.
