Ben Paden, Sen. Dead
Uncle Ben Paden of Geneva community, a pioneer citizen of this county, died at his home last Thursday, at the age of 87 years, was laid to rest in Geneva cemetery, funeral services were conducted by Rev. Ben Hill. Uncle Ben was a prominent man in territorial days and held many positions of honor and trust, one of which he had served as District Judge. He was a good citizen and his friends were numerous. He was widely known for his many charitable acts.
He was raised in Alabama and was a devoted member of the M.E. Church and a member of the I.O.O.F. fraternity. He leaves a wife, one son, three daughters and one sister, Mrs. R. L. Taylor and a host of sorrowing friends to mourn his departure. The bereaved family have our profound sympathy.
