Born at Drakes Creek, Sumner Co., Tenn to William Davis and Mary "Polly" Sebastian. She married first to Dr. James Anderson Pearce 5 Nov 1834 in White Co., Illinois. They were the parents of an infant son, William Detroit, Louisa Catherine, Harriet Ann, Celestia, and Lafayette D. Pearce.
James died before Lafayette was born; and on March 28, 1857, Sarah married Charles Oliver, a widower with several children, in White Co. Charles died in 1868 in Illinois.
Sarah married a third time, to Richard M. Duncan 7 May 1872 in Illinois. He survived her.
