Aby Dicken, 74 year-old Spanish-American War Veteran, died Saturday, 25 AUG 1956, at the home of his son, Homer Dicken, following a heart attack. Funeral services were held Monday, August 27 at 10 a.m. from the Robinson Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe Brown in charge, assisted by Rev. Payne. Burial was in the family cemetery in Russell County. The pallbearers were Anuel Arnold, Lenuel Bault, Crum Burton, Edwin Bault, Gatin Johns and Ed Barnett. Dicken, son of the late Abb Dicken and Mrs. Elizabeth Jones Dicken, was born 10 FEB 1882 in Clinton County, KY. He professed faith in Christ some 45 years ago and was a member of the Robinson Creek Baptist Church. He united in marriage to Miss Cora Reeder in 1909 and she preceded him in death in 1939. To this union two sons and two daughters were born. Survivors include his children, Homer and Carson Dicken, Mrs. Lizzie Dudgeon and Mrs. Cecil Barnett, all of Taylor County. Also one half-sister, Mrs. Ida Young of Telahoran, TN; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
