George served as a Second Lieutenant & Navigator on B-17G "Sky Duster" #42-31386, 359th Bomber Squadron, 303rd Bomber Group, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in El Paso County, Texas prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on November 25, 1940, prior to the war, at Fort Bliss, El Paso, Texas. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed in surveying and also as Single, without dependents.

George was "Killed In Action" when his B-17 was hit by German flak on the nose and also blew off engine #3, exploded and crashed in Pichelsberg, near Berlin, Germany during the war. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
