GRAYSVILLE, TN - Raymond Howard Harvey, 77, died Thursday, August 5, 2010, in Murfreesboro, TN.
He was born February 19, 1933 in Chattanooga, TN to the late Emmett and Mary Harden Harvey. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Jo Miles Harvey; daughter, Teresa Harvey; sister, Bea Rodgers; brother, Mark Harvey and and Max Harvey; and great-grandson Tristin Smith.
Howard served his country in the U.S. Navy for 12 years during the Korean War.
He is survived by his son, Ray Harvey of Graysville, TN; daughter, Lois Smith, of Las Vegas, NV; brothers, Bruce Harvey, of Murfreesboro, TN, Ed Harvey, of Chattanooga, TN and Carl Harvey, of San Antonio, TX; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Howard will be held today at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Mr. Joe Coulter officiating.
Burial with military honors will be in Pleasantview Cemetery in Graysville, TN.
The family is being served by the Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton where they will receive friends today from 1 to 3 p.m.
