Pvt. Fred J. Tice, son of Mr. and Mrs. Julius Tice of San Antonio, enlisted Feb. 23, 1918, and was assigned to Co. F, 358th Inf., 90th Div. Trained at Camp Travis. This division went over in the summer of 1918, and participated in the St. Mihiel and Meuse-Argonne offensives. Private Tice was killed in action Sept. 14, 1918. Buried in France. He was a good soldier, always ready and anxious to do his duty, and his death was deeply deplored. He gave his life for freedom's cause.
