A telegram was received from the War Department on November 27th by Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Jones, stating that their son First Sergeant Marvin E. Jones(Genia) who was previously reported "Missing in action," is now stated
"Killed in action", on January 22, 1944, in Italy. He had been in service since November, 1940, and had been overseas
nineteen months.
Mrs. Norman E. Jones from Dallas, Staff Sergeant Lee Jones of Camp Barkeley near Abilene, Mrs. Lee Jones of Centerville, Mr. and Mrs. Truett Wester and Gerry of Madisonville, have been guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Jones since the news of the actual death of their beloved son in action has been received. Many friends grieve with the heartbroken family.
