Archie Qualls was born 07 Aug 1907 in Caradan, Mills County, Texas. His father was Ambrose Qualls b. 1856 in Illinois, d 1938 in Gray County, Texas. His mother was Mary Anna "Bessie" (Epperson) Qualls b 1870 in Georgia, d in 1920 in Austin, Travis County, Texas. During WWII, on 29 Sep 1945, Archie was killed on base near Antwerp, Belgium by a civilian driver who crashed into about thirty soldiers, killing four and injuring several others.
