Here is what the morning report shows for 14 Apr 1945: "Co was shelled by enemy arty at 1910 N. of Blintrop, Germany. Command H/Track and Gas truck both received hits and burned, 1 EM KIA [Sgt. Clarence M. Bowen]. Departed 4/10 miles N. Blintrop, Germany at 2035. Roads good. Distance traveled 3/10 miles. Weather cloudy. Morale fair.


SGT. Clarence Bowen has a cenotaph in Crossroads Cemetery and is listed on a monument in Paddletown Cemetery.
