Doris Beshore, 88, formerly of New Cumberland, passed away on October 3, 2016, at The Woods at Cedar Run, Camp Hill, PA.
Born on November 15, 1927, in Fairview Township, she was the daughter of the late Clarence W. and Mary (Fencil) Bowen. She was a graduate of New Cumberland High School. After 30 years of service at New Cumberland Army Depot, she retired in 1987 as a Supervisory Supply Technician.
She was a member of Yocumtown Church of God where she served as a Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher, pianist and organist, Deaconess, President of Women's Ministry, and as a delegate to the Church of God's General Conference. She was also a member of the York County Society of Farm Women. She delivered meals for Meals on Wheels and volunteered at the Red Land Senior Center.
She enjoyed traveling, baking, bird-watching, gardening, shopping, and spending time with family. She will be remembered for her love of God and family.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Daniel Beshore; brothers, Wayne, Wilbur, Nestor, and Milford Bowen; sisters, Leta Bowen and Vesta Andrews; and a great-grandson, Parker J. Dmitrovic. She is survived by her children, Dennis Beshore (Toni) of Lemoyne, Dana Landis (Glenn) of York, Deloris Bennish (Robert) of Harrisburg, Delmer Beshore (Debbie) of Clovis, CA, and Douglas Beshore (Suzanne) of Etters. She is also survived by her sister, Elaine Myers (Donald) of Dover; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be held on Friday, October 14, 2016, at 11:30 a.m. in her church with Pastor Stefanie DiFrancesco and Pastor Charles Yost officiating. There will be a viewing at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be in Crossroads Cemetery, Fairview Twp. Stone & Murray Funeral Home, New Cumberland is handling arrangements.
