Staff Sergeant Arlin D Pendleton, Service Number: 39275384, flew as flight engineer and aerial gunner on A-20 Havoc light bombers with the 641st Bomb Squadron, 409th Bomb Group.
The following is posted on Pendleton's memorial page at the American Air Museum in Britain, "Arlin Pendleton served with the 641st Bomb Squadron of the 409th Bomb Group, flying missions out of Little Walden, England. On 11 June 1944, he was in A-20 43-9946 when it collided with A-20 43-99703 soon after take-off. Pendleton died when the aircraft crash landed."
His medals included the Air Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters and Purple Heart. Pendleton's home state was Idaho but he entered service in California.
