"The Late Private H. Benson.
Private Harry Benson, whose death at the front was announced last week, was well known in Glenelg, having been employed at the Pier Hotel for a considerable time as second chef. The deceased landed in Australia from Liverpool about five years ago, and during the major portion of that time resided at Glenelg. He took an active part in the Glenelg Lodge, R.A.O.B.of which he was a highly esteemed member. Prior to enlistment he was employed at the Grand Central Hotel. Private Benson left with the 27th Battalion in May, 1915, and was in Egypt and Gallipoli for some time. He died of wounds, in France, on August 11, He leaves a wife and two little boys, aged 2 years and 13 months respectively.
