Wilson served as a Captain & Pilot on B-29 "Joltin Josie" #42-24614, 873rd Bomber Squadron, 498th Bomber Group, Very Heavy, U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II.

He resided in Santa Fe County, New Mexico prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on March 17, 1941, prior to the war, in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a actor and also as Single, without dependents.

Wilson was declared "Missing In Action" when the "Joltin Josie" suffered an explosion shortly after takeoff from Saipan Atol and crashed into the sea.

They were assigned to mission 51 along with 114 other B-29's that were dispatched to attack the Nakajima aircraft plant in Tokyo during the war.

B-29 "Joltin Josie" #42-24614 was one of six B-29's lost of this mission.

He was awarded the Air Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster and the Purple Heart.

Wilson also has a "Cenotaph" in the Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, New Mexico.
