Lt. Milton Chadwick Jacobs was the first born child of Milton Grady Jacobs and Veta Binford. Born in Marshall, Texas, he grew up in several Texas towns. In 1940, he was a midshipman at the US Naval Academy and resided in Bancroft Hall. He graduated in 1941, and married Nancy Ann L Johnson on November 22, 1942 in Vancouver, Clark County, Washington.

During the war, he was stationed aboard the USS Yorktown. He went missing in action on April 9, 1945. His name is inscribed on the Tablets of the Missing, Court 3. Lt. Jacobs was the recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross, Purple Heart, Air Medal, American Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal and Combat Action Medal.

He was survived by his wife, parents and three brothers, Robert A Jacobs, Edmond Niel Benford Jacobs and Grady Alan Jacobs; and two sisters, Joyce Elaine and Gloria Nell Jacobs.
