Jo Ann Smith, 51, died Friday in Ball Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
She was born in Tall Timber, Md., attended schools in that area, spent her early years there and came to Muncie 35 years ago.
Survivors include her husband of 35 years, W.H. Smith; seven children, Karen Melching, Mansfield, Ohio, Kent Smith, Albany, and Terri Galbraith, Greg Smith, Debbie Anderson, Joseph Smith and Mark Smith, all of Muncie; a brother, Joseph Goldsborrough, Yorktown; eight grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Private services will be at Meeks Mortuary. There will be no calling hours.
Memorials may be sent to Disabled American Veterans, 3220 S. Monroe St., Muncie 47302.
