From the History of Shelby County, Indiana, 1887, p. 612-613:
His father, also Anthony Fraker, was born in Oberhoff, Switzerland, 27 Nov 1799 & emigrated to America with his mother, Anna Taylor Fraker. The mother & son landed near Philadelphia in 1817 after a 90 days journey. The elder Anthony Fraker worked for the man who paid his passage for 7 years, spent 2 years in Philadelphia, a winter in New Orleans, then returned to Wilmington, Delaware. There, he married Hannah Preston (daughter of Isaac Preston & Sarah Cartwell). They had 6 children (Joseph, Anthony, Isaac, Daniel, Sarah, Mary). Anthony A. Fraker (this memorial) was the 2nd of the 6. Hannah died after 12 years, leaving the elder Anthony with 4 small children. He brought the family to Brown County, then Johnson County, Indiana. The elder Anthony married Sarah Anderson, and they moved to Shelby County, Indiana in 1865. Sarah died in Edinburgh, where they lived for 3 years. The elder Anthony lived with his son Anthony (this memorial) and worked as a carpet weaver.

Anthony (this memorial) married Melissa Bishop on 6 Oct. 1859. She was born 5 Jun 1839 in Brandywine Township, Shelby County, Indiana, the daughter of Isaac Bishop & Waity Tilson.
Children of Anthony & Melissa: Florence A 1861, Lillie B 1863-1866, Maggie M 1866-1870, Minnie I 1874, Clarence T 1877. They owned a 51-acre farm.

ANTHONY FRAKER IS DEAD, AGE 86
Was Born In Delaware, Resided in Brandywine Township For 64 Years
WAS FATHER OF C. T. FRAKER
Anthony Fraker died this morning at eleven o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Frank Imel, of Fairland. Mr. Fraker died of old age, after an illness lasting two weeks. He was born in Wilmington, Delaware, 86 years ago. When he was 13 years old he came to Johnson county and seven years later moved to Shelby county on a farm northeast of Fairland. Mrs. Fraker died ten years ago. The living children are Mrs. Frank Imel and Clarence T. Fraker, of Fairland; and Mrs. Hiram Banks, of Indianapolis. Throughout his long life spent in and near Fairland, Mr. Fraker was recognized as one of the very best man of that community. One sister survives, Mrs. Mary Petty, of Hendricks county. For many years Mr. Fraker was a member of the Baptist church in which organization he took an active part so long as his health would permit. His wife was Malissa Bishop, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Bishop, pioneers of that section.

FRAKER FUNERAL SUNDAY
Funeral services for Anthony Fraker, who died Thursday at his home in Fairland, will be held Sunday afternoon at three o'clock at the Fairland Baptist church, the Rev. Horace N. Spear, pastor of the First Baptist church of this city, officiating.
