RESPECTED CITIZEN PASSES TO HIS REWARD
Andrew J. Lee Died At His Home In Moral Township Sunday Morning
ENTIRE LIFE HAD BEEN SPENT IN SHELBY COUNTY
His Name Has Long Stood As A Synonym For Honesty In Public And Private Dealings
BURIAL TUESDAY AFTERNOON
Shelby County lost one of her foremost and respected citizens when Andrew J. Lee passed away at his home in Moral township, Sunday morning, at 11 o'clock, after a lingering illness of several months. About a week ago, Mr. Lee suffered a stroke akin to paralysis and since then his death has been but a question of time.
Mr. Lee was born in Shelby County, in the neighborhood of the county asylum, on September 1, 1835*, making him at the time of his death, seventy-one years and fifteen days old. His entire life has been spent in Shelby county, and he was a good type of a man, who by industry, honesty and frugality attained a competence in this world's goods.
In 1860, he was united in marriage to Mary Hasler, and their life has been an ideal one ever since. To this union was born six children, two of which answered the Master's call before the death of the father.
Mr. Lee is survived by the widow and four children; Benjamin and William Lee, Mrs. Seymour Ensminger and Mrs. Silas Harrell, in addition to a large circle of relatives and friends.
The funeral services will be held at the late home, Tuesday afternoon, at one o'clock. The Rev. E.R. Vest, of Fairland, will officiate. Interment in the Brandywine cemetery.
