Corporal, United States Army, killed in action in France in World War I. A resident of Morris Plains, New Jersey, he began his war service as a Red Cross worker, initially driving an ambulance in Italy in 1917. In March 1918 he traveled to France as a Red Cross worker. During a visit to Paris he enlisted in June 4, 1918 in the US Army 345th Battalion Tank Corps. He was killed in action October 7, 1918 at the Battle of the Argonne, and buried in the Meuse-Argonne Cemetery in France. He was survived by his parents. He never married.
