George Carlock died on October 22, 1918 in a Paris hospital from an attack of influenza. He was the son of Alvin and Anna Mirenda "Daisy" (Hubbard) Carlock and was a nephew of Mrs. D. E. Denman of Normal, who received the news of his death here in Buffalo. George Carlock was born in 1884. When a young man he went to Paris to study art and spent fifteen years there. When the war broke out he returned to this country, but after a year he again went over to Paris to act as an interpreter for the Red Cross there. He died in Paris and was buried by the Red Cross in Neuilly, France. Young Carlock was a nephew of the famous Elbert Hubbard, who lost his life when the Lusitania went down.
