CORA ATHABELLE HOLLISTER ALBAUGH

Mrs. Cora Athabelle Albaugh, wife of Jonathan Albaugh, passed away at 10 o'clock am, Tuesday, May 19, 1942, at her home on Cropp Hill, Forest County, following a long illness. She was a daughter of the late Elisha and Mary Scisson Hollister and was born on December 6, 1874, in Salamanca, NY, where fifty-two years ago she was united in marriage with Mr. Albaugh.

Since that time she had been a resident of Cropp Hill, where she had a wide circle of friends. When her health permitted she was a regular attendant at the services of the Church of God on Cropp Hill. Seven children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Albaugh and with the husband, five of these survive, namely: Mrs. Elle Moore, of Oil City; Oliver Albaugh, of Tionesta; Elmer Albaugh, of Warren; Mrs. Lena HepLer and Mrs. Freda Lackey, of Tionesta. One brother, William Hollister, of Jamestown, NY, also survives.

The body was removed to the Haslet Funeral Home in Tionesta and funeral services in her memory will be held at 2:30 o'clock Friday afternoon in the Church of God on Cropp Hill. Interment will be made in the Starr cemetery.

Funeral services for Mrs. Cora Albaugh, wife of Jonathan Albaugh, who died suddenly at her home on Cropp Hill Tuesday morning, May 19, 1942, were conducted at 2:30 o'clock Friday afternoon at the Church of God on Cropp Hill, following a prayer service at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lawrence Lackey, in Tionesta. Rev. Wesley Weisbrod, of Parkers Landing, officiated. During the services he read the hymns, "Crossing the Bar", and "The Old Rugged Cross". Interment was in the Zuendel cemetery at Starr, PA, and the following grandsons were pallbearers: Archie J. Hepler, Claude Moore, Ellsworth Faulds, Arthur Albaugh, and Paul Allen; C. E. Burhen, a friend.

Relatives and friends from a distance in attendance were: Mr. and Mrs. Frank Albaugh, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Bechtel, Mr. and Mrs. W. O. Himes, Mrs. Harriet Albaugh, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Himes, Miss Betty Jane Albaugh, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Crownable, Fred Albaugh, Mr. and Mrs. Allan Moore, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Newell, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Bechtel, Miss Wilda Moore, Miss Phyllis Moore, Miss Deloris Moore, all of Oil City; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Wygant, of Franklin; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Albaugh, of Van; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Myers, of Franklin; Mr. and Mrs. Homer Frampton, of Endeavor; Miss Beverly Passauer, of Tidioute; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Albaugh, of Van; Leonard Maxwell, of Emlenton; William Hollister, of Jamestown, NY; Ray A. Albaugh, of Lamesa, TX.

Mrs. Albaugh will be greatly missed by all whom she knew, in the community and elsewhere. She was a kind and loving friend. While her health permitted she was active in the work of her church.
