Lenora M. Pearsey was born November 25, 1884, near Westland, Indiana to George and Mary (Boblett) Pearsey. She married Chase S. Levi, born November 10, 1876 to Calvin and Julie (Mosier) Levi in Indiana. He was a cousin of Lenoras brother-in-law, Albert W. Levi. Nora gave birth to a son when she was 15 years old and it is to his credit that Chase Levi raised Max as his own son. In 1910, Chase and Nora resided at 832 W. 2nd Street in Rushville. Living with them was her father George and brother Ralph. Chase Levi was working as a house carpenter. George D. Pearsey lived with his daughter Nora when he died in 1915. When her brother Ralph became an invalid due to a muscular disease, Nora nursed him through the last 15 years of his life. She helped plan the Pearsey family reunions of the 1930's in Rushville. Nora enjoyed telling jokes. In the 1920's, she purchased a vacant lot at 224 N. Spencer Avenue that lay next to the home her siblings Daisy and Marshal lived in and had a home built on it. This was the location of a Pearsey reunion on November 25, 1924, Nora's 40th birthday. Almost all members of the family, including Aunt Fannie Ridenbaugh, then 74, attended the celebration, marked by dancing. Chase died September 4, 1943 at the home on 224 N. Spencer St. Nora died on April 7, 1947 of a heart ailment at the home of Nellie Frame, on U.S. 52 west of Rushville. She had lived there for a year. Both are buried in East Hill.
