Funeral services for Miss Sarah James Baker who passed away Thursday, will be held Friday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock, Rev. Oliver C. Cox, assisted by Dr. L.D. Patterson, at the home of W.F. Boswell on Line Street.
Interment will follow in City Cemetery, Brown directing. The following will be pallbearers: Billy Boswell, Council Elliott,, Fred Tidwell, Walter Rauschenberg, Sam Lile and Rayburn Neville.
Miss Baker was born in Richmond County, North Carolina, in 1856 and removed with her family to Lawrence County in 1858. She was a daughter of John McCallum Baker and Susan Council Baker, members of two pioneer North Carolina families.
For the past 12 years Miss Baker has made her home in Decatur, where she endeared herself to many friends.
The deceased, who was a life-long member of St. John's Episcopal Church, is survived by a sister, Mrs. Helen Baker Moseley and a niece, Miss Kate Baker Lile and several other nieces and nephews.
