Age 70, son of the late Dominick and Mamie Anastasia Barbaro. During World War II he was a staff sergeant with Squadron A, 383rd U.S. Army Air Force Unit, and was awarded three Bronze Stars//Air Medals for his service in the European, Middle Eastern and African theaters. Mr. Barbaro worked in construction with Ironworkers Local No. 348 until his retirement, and greatly enjoyed golfing.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Szychowski Barbaro in 1989, and by a sister, Rose Zuck.

Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Ruth) Nucerino of Waterford, Mrs. Donald (Kathleen) Matthews of Indianapolis, Ind., Mrs. Charles (Judith) Shychuk and Mrs. Gerald (Rebecca) Biebel, both of Erie; a son, Joseph Dominick Barbaro of Erie; two brothers, Ralph and Frank Barbaro, both of Erie; two sisters, Katherine Pitto and Helen LaPlaca, both of Erie; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
