Born (10/23/1905) in Shoemakersville, Berks County, she was a daughter of the late Solomon and Agnes Lesher.
When she was three years old, Mrs. Erb's family moved from Berks County and bought a farm in Spring Mount. When she was seven, her mother died in a train accident.
Mrs. Erb attended the Waltz School on Salfordville Road, and at age 15 began working for the former Schwenksville Hosiery Mill. Since her marriage in 1925, she lived in Lower Salford Township, until moving to Sarasota, FL. in 1978, where she lived until 1986, when, she moved to Dock Manor.
As a young woman, she sewed at home and worked for the former Schoenenman's Clothing Co., of Souderton. She knitted more than 90 afghans, most of which were donated to grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends. She enjoyed traveling and visiting places in the U.S., Hawaii, Europe, the Holy Land, and Scandinavia..
Mrs. Erb was a member of Salford Mennonite Church, Harleysville, since 1929, where she was an adult Sunday School teacher for 27 years and active in the Sewing Circle. She was a former member of Bay Shore Mennonite Church, Sarasota, FL. Mrs. Erb read the Bible through 41 times.
