Karl Samuel Lesher, 87, husband of the late Freda (Dunn) Lesher of Perkiomenville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at LifeQuest Nursing Center, Quakertown.

Born in Salfordville, he was the son of the late Solomon and Estelle Emma (Kulp) Lesher.

Karl attended East Greenville High School. He worked as a Civil Engineer for Tubular Products, Souderton, where he retired in 1982. Previously, Karl worked as an electrician, had his own TV repair shop in Tylersport, and enjoyed providing public address services for community events. Karl was a member of Bally Mennonite Church, and belonged to the Trooper, Audubon, and Harleysville Senior Citizens Centers, Port Indian Civic Assoc., Schuylkill Valley Coin Club, Morwood Sportsman's Assoc., American Legion Post # 184, VFW Post # 5954 and Patriotic Sons of America Lodge. He served in the United States Army Calvary during World War II. Karl was an avid coin collector and skilled handyman and will be remembered for his jokes and story-telling.

Surviving are his daughters, Sandra Chellew, Chesapeake, VA and Karyn, wife of Craig Keyser, Perkiomenville, PA; step-sons, David Fonder and wife, Beverly, New Castle, DE and George Fonder, Smyrna, DE; eleven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, wife Freda, former wife Arlene Shaw (Lesher) Schnell and son Karl S. "Butchie" Lesher, Jr., brothers John, Harry and Solomon; sisters Mable, Violet, Mary, Louise and Carrie.
