Carrie Etta Savage, 86, of Crown Point passed away Sunday, October 12, 2003 in St. Anthony Hospital. She was a member of Hobart Presbyterian Church, United Presbyterian Women, a former member of Brunswick Presbyterian Church in Gary and Eastern Star. She enjoyed crafting, puzzles and spending time with her family. She will be remembered by her family as a wonderful homemaker, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Carrie is survived by her sons, David Lynn (Sue) Savage of Lowell, Harry Lee (Marian) Savage of Plymouth; daughter, Carol Ann Johnson of Crown Point; brother, Ralph Bristow of Hobart; sisters, Geraldine (Clifford) Holler of Griffith, Gloria (Gary) Yakim of Cheltenham, PA; grandchildren, Carrie E. (Kevin) Zimmerman, Harry L. (Christene) Savage, Jr., Jeffery L. Savage, Kevin M. Johnson, Robert I. (Carrie) Savage, Deanna
S. (George) Dvojacki, Scott L. (Charity) Savage, Joshua D. Savage; nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David; parents, John and Hazel Bristow; brother, John Bristow, Jr., sisters, Mildred Anstey, Ruth Daniels, Lillian Harvey, Wanita Tomlinson and Marion Rhodes.
Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, October 16, 2003 in Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., with Rev. Lester Johnson officiating. Burial will occur immediately following services in Calumet Park Cemetery. Visiting hours will be from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, October 15, 2003 in Rees Funeral Home.
