Alvis Suits was born Jan. 26, 1887 to David and Josephine (Spivey) Suits. He was raised in the Sparks Hill area north of present day Elizabethtown, IL.
Alvis was a farmer by trade and loved hunting better than any man in Hardin Co., and was rarely seen without a gun in his hand. On Oct. 27, 1907, he married Hester Browning, at the home of Archibald and Lydia Rutherford who were Hester's grandfather and grandmother.
