Mark was married first to my sister Margaret Minnie [Bishop] Coble. They had two children, Erika [Mrstik] Lovell and Mark Mrstik II and then divorced. He was married and divorced a second time. He was in the process of divorcing his third wife when he died. He was living with his parents at the time of his death. He was cremated and has no marker at this cemetery at this time.

Mark Roy Mrstik, 53, of Hiawatha, died July 31, 2010 following a sudden illness. Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Friends may call after 10:30 AM on Wednesday at the Chapel.

Surviving are his wife Evelyn; his parents, Roy and Dorothy Mrstik of Cedar Rapids; children Erika Mrstik [Lovell] of Hiawatha and Mark Mrstik II of Cedar Rapids; step-children Boone Bruce of Cedar Rapids, Erin Bruce of Vinton, and Joey (Cassie) Bruce of Cedar Rapids; his siblings Roger (Penny) Mrstik, Beverly (Lester) Batey, and Cheryl Mrstik all of Cedar Rapids; and 10 grandchildren.

Mark was born March 23, 1957 in Cedar Rapids the son of Roy W. and Dorothy R. (McGowan) Mrstik. He graduated from Cedar Rapids Jefferson High school, and went on to serve in the United States Army. He was employed for 19 years at Rockwell Collins in Machine Maintenance. More recently, he was employed as a truck driver. He married Evelyn Rommann on September 22, 2007 in Cedar Rapids. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and riding his Harley.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Mark's name.
