Willard E Carlson, 64, died April 4 at Chisago Lakes Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was born June 28, 1919 to Carl and Jenny Carlson on a farm south of Shafer.
On June 17, 1944, he married Elgene Green. He is survived by his wife, Elgene and four children; son Kevin Carlson of Rochester and daughters, Mrs Tim (Pamela) Anderson of St. Paul, Mrs David (Patricia) Ackman, Minneapolis and Mrs Steve (Beth) Gustafson of Shafer; 7 grandchildren and brothers, Vincent Carlson of Jacobson and James Carlson of Shafer. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son Larry and an infant granddaughter, Tammy and 2 brothers, Raymond and Wendell.
He was baptized and confirmed at and was a lifelong member of Chisago Lake Lutheran Church.
He graduated from Taylors Falls High School and farmed south of Shafer until his death.
Services were held Saturday, April 7 at Chisago Lake Lutheran Church in Center City with Rev Russell Peterson officiating.
Pallbearers were cousins: Ellis Johnson, Elliot, Everett and Dale Hawkinson, Chester and Carl Carlson. Interment was at the Hillside Cemetery at Center City.
