Emily E. Campbell was born in Laurens, South Carolina in November 1811. She was the sixth of nine children born to Archibald Graham Campbell and Mary Graham Campbell. Emily's headstone gives her date of birth as November 15, while the Campbell Family Bible records her birth as November 9th.She married Robert Alexander Fountain (1808-1869) (a brother of Hartwell Coleman Fountain) ca 1834 in Alabama where their first child was born about 1835. By 1838 Robert & Emily had migrated to Mississippi where their family increased by at least 5 more children. In the 1850 census they were living in Lauderdale County, Mississippi. Reportedly Robert died in 1869 and Emily died in 1879.Emily is buried in the Hartwell Coleman Fountain plot. Apparently Robert and Emily moved back to Texas before 1869 or Emily returned as a widow following 1869.
