Abijah & Susan had abt 13 children and not all are buried in Mt. Zion. Several have unmarked or unreadable graves. Vashti Caroline, Simon M, Martha Emaline, Mary Jane, Infant, Harriet Celia, Infant Son, John Bennett, Inf Daug, Sarah Ann, Irby H, Susan Ellen & Texanna S Boggess.

Abijah was a Kind Slave owner of Ralph "Rafe" Boggess (born abt 1820-1830 & died after 1880) and several others. Rafe stayed with Abijah after he was freed as his servant; 'till Abijah's death & beyond. His loyal servant Rafe walked to his grave daily, laid down and talk to his old beloved master. Both Abijah & Rafe lived with Abijah's daughter Harriet Celia Davis 'till their deaths.

He lived in the Ten Mile area and his neighbors were; Sharp, Davis, Ragland/Redmond/Redman, Wattenbargers, Blackwell, Griffith, Fitch and more. He married Susan About 1816. His grave is in disrepair in the stoned wall area.

He served in the War of 1812 and the Civil War. His son Abijah F. Boggess was killed at Bentonville. Abijah Sr. asked for and received a Pardon for his part in the Rebellion.
