HOLTZINGER, Howard I.Howard I. Holtzinger, 87, passed away March 14, 2010, in Mesa, Arizona. He was born December 29, 1922, in Wellington, CO, to Oscar and Gertrude May Holtzinger. Howard graduated from Wellington High School in 1940. On May 25, 1945, Howard married Lucy Jane Temple in Fort Collins. He was a rancher north of Wellington for many years before they moved to Mesa, Arizona in 1982. Howard was a member of the Community of Christ Church and the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed playing Pinochle, Pool and Cribbage.Howard is survived by his daughter, Katherine Bridwell Brian Cole of Fort Collins; grandchildren, Janene Curt Burgener, of Loveland, Eugene Bridwell of Fort Collins, and Marcia Bridwell Mick Davis of Wellington; great-grandchildren, Brandon , Bailee, Taylor, Brett, Felicia, Sierra, Hoss and Jacee. He is also survived by his special friend, Carol Holland of Mesa, AZ; brother, Forest Holtzinger of Palm Springs, CA; sisters-in-law, Laura Jane Holtzinger of Roseville, CA and Stella Raymond of Brandon, OR; and numerous nieces and nephews. Howard was preceded in death by his wife, Jane, who died in 1997; and five brothers.Funeral Service will be held 11:00 am Friday, March 19, at Allnutt Drake Chapel. Interment at Grandview Cemetery.

Howard was born on his parents ranch in Wellington on Dec 29 1922. He was the youngest of seven brothers and son of Oscar Raymond Holtzinger and Gertrude Maye Anderson. Howard graduated from Wellington High in 1940. He went into the Navy in 1940 and served in Guam during WWII. He married Lucy Jane Temple May 25 1945. They lived on the ranch until became a realtor in 1972 and later owned 3 Silos Realty. In 1982 he and Jane moved to Mesa Arizona where they spent their retirement years. He is survived by their daughter, three grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
