JULIA LEIGH LYNNE CRAWFORD

Julia Leigh Crawford, a civic and social leader in Decatur for many years, died Thursday.

Graveside service for Mrs. Crawford, who died at her Northeast Decatur home, will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Decatur Cemetery. The Rev. W.K. Stephenson will officiate.

Mrs. Crawford, a Decatur native, was the widow of William Skeggs Crawford.

Active in many civic organizations, she was the former president of the Morgan County Chapter of the Alabama Society for Crippled Children and Adults as well as a state officer for the organizations.

She was also a former officer in the Morgan county Red Cross and a charter member of the Decatur Junior Service League.

She was one of the civic and social leaders during her entire life. She was just a lovely, delightful person, said Decatur attorney John Caddell, a long-time friend of Mrs. Crawford.

She is survived by a brother, Federal District Judge Seybourn Lynne of Birmingham; two nieces and one nephew.
