Emmett Lloyd Merritt was the fourth son of Mr. and Mrs. Merit Millard Merritt. He died as a young boy, at the age of 13 years.--

Emmett Lloyd Merritt was called to his eternal rest on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at the age of 13 years. He has been a patient, suffering from inflammatory rheumatism during the past winter and spring, and when it seemed that there was a good chance for recovery, complications set in with the above result.

He was the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. M. M. Merritt of Dorvay Township, a bright and promising young lad, and the idol of his mothers heart.

The body was shipped to St. Paul, MN, on Wednesday, where interment took place on Thursday. The body was accompanied by the sorrowing parents and other relatives met them at St. Paul.

Three brothers and a father and mother remain to mourn his early loss, and these have the sympathy of the Independent and a host of friends.
