Elva Stone Carson

Sandy - Elva La Verne Stone Carson, 59, died Nov. 27, 1980, in a Murray hospital after a long illness. Born June 10, 1921, in Union, Utah, to Ernest Moroni and Hulda Charlotte Nelson Stone. Married Stanford Eugene Carson on June 20, 1940, in East Midvale, Utah. Later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on May 19, 1961. She lived and served faithfully many years in the Sandy 3rd Ward; serving as Young Women's Mutual President for 5 years, as Relief Society President for 5 years, and active in other various church positions. She later served in the Crescent 11th Ward. Most of all, her accomplishments are felt by her family and friends by her influence as an example and by her unceasing compassionate service. Those who knew her will remember her as being a faithful, devoted, loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Survivors: Loving and devoted husband of 40 years, Stanford Eugene Carson, Sandy; children of Crescent, Sandy, and Sandy; 18 grandchildren; nephews of Flagstaff, Ariz.; Boise, Idaho; aunts Mrs. Fanny Robinette and Mrs. Edith Anderson, both Salt Lake City.

Funeral services Monday 1:00 p.m. Crescent 11th Ward, 10885 Pampas Drive, Sandy. Friends may call at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State, Sunday 6-8 p.m. and at the church Monday one hour prior to services. Interment: Murray City Cemetery.
