Mrs. Ellen Kennedy, wife of Mr. John Kennedy, died at her home near Munster yesterday morning about 7 o'clock, aged about 78 years. Besides the husband Mrs. Kennedy left six children to mourn her death, two of them by a former marriage to a gentleman named Flavin*. The funeral services will be held in the Catholic church in Eagle, with interment made in Lostlands cemetery.

Ellen Wolfe first married Michael Flahaven in Ballybunion, Kerry, Ireland. Michael was born 19 April 1824 in Listowel, Co. Kerry. He died either in Ireland or Illinois before 1860. Ellen and Michael Flahaven had children: Mary 1845-1910; Thomas Richard, 1849-1923 and Margaret Rachael 1852-bef 1900.

Ellen second married John Kennedy January 25, 1860 in LaSalle County.

Children with John Kennedy: Daniel (1860-1932); John (1862-1938);Ellen "Nellie" Brennan (1864-1924); Anna Barron (1866-1945)
