Mrs. McCain was born 91 years ago William Franklin and Bertha Lillian Nickless Davison. She graduated from McCaulley High School in 1936. June received a Bachelors of Education in 1941 from North Texas Teachers College, and later her Masters of Education in Guidance Counseling from North Texas State University in 1963. June married Horace K. McCain Aug. 22, 1942 in Gainesville.

June taught Physical Education at the Junior High and High School for 15 years in Gainesville and was the Guidance Counselor for 18 years at the High School. After retiring June served on the GISD board for 12 years. She was a Green Jacket at NTTC and a member of the National Honorary Fraternity for P.E. Majors, Delta Si Kappa. She was also involved in the Retired Teachers Association, serving as President, a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, a member of the Cooke County Welfare Board and a member of Gainesville Senior Citizen Foundation. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Gainesville since 1941.

June was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Howard C. Davison and Warren Davison; sisters, Myrtle Lois Davison, Daisy Mae Martin, Jewell Davison and Frances Williams. She was also preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Tillotson Noel and Bessie Pearl Ward McCain and brothers-in-law, Jerry C. McCain and Ward McCain.
