Mrs. Heatwole was born on June 18, 1930, in Dayton, and was the daughter of the late Lewis S. and Elizabeth Koogler Knicely. She was a homemaker and member of the Indiana-Michigan Wisler Mennonite Church.
On March 26, 1952, she married Paul S. Heatwole, who survives. Also surviving are eight children, Lowell K. Heatwole and wife, Phyllis, Allen E. Heatwole and wife, Patricia, Elizabeth Ann Martin and husband, Roland, all of New Paris, Ind., Judith Heatwole of Dayton, Lera Rodes and husband, Robert, of Nappanee, Ind., Linda Martin and husband, David, of Goshen, Ind., Franklin L. Heatwole and wife, Kristina, Kevin J. Heatwole and wife, Hilda, all of Decker, Mich.; one brother, Amos S. Knicely of Dayton; two sisters, Ellen Rhodes of Dayton, and Wilda Witmer of Mount Crawford; 50 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Heatwole was preceded in death by a son, Steven Lynn Heatwole, and one brother, Byard E. Knicely.
Bishops Marvin Ramer and Jerry Martin will conduct a funeral service at the Pleasant View Old Order Mennonite Church on Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
The body will be taken to the home where the family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 10 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.
McMullen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
