Ms. Cynthia Williams passed away Thursday, July 22, 2010, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson as a result of Heart Failure. All who knew and loved her, watched in amazement at her graceful, tenacious struggle to live a full life within the confines of severe heart failure. For ten years, she did not complain but faced each challenge in characteristic Williams fashion.
Cindy Bell graduated from Mississippi State University in 1972 with a degree in computer programming and a variety of cowbells. Her professional career began in Information Technology with McRae's Department Store and continued at Saks Inc. until her death.
She inherited her Father's green thumb and love of animals. All animals seemed to gravitate toward Cindy's unconditional love for them. From her Mother, she inherited a true love for good food, fine dining and the skill to create her own culinary masterpieces.
Cindy was known by most people to be a quiet person; however, her comments and analyses were short, witty and to the point. When asked why she had so little to say, she would comment that "She never had a chance to talk because of her loquacious sister and Momma". Her love of travel always included in depth research and planning. Cindy did not hesitate to direct everyone's plans. One good friend dubbed her "Point Person"--she would point the way and everybody followed. As an avid reader and lover of books, she chose and recommended good literature to her fellow reading buddies.
Her greatest joy was her nephew Chris. When they got together, no one else existed. Over the years they shared countless inside jokes, travels, photography and great fun.
Ms. Williams is survived by her little sister, Olivia W. Farish of Prentiss; her nephew, Chris Farish of Seattle, WA and her beloved tortoise-shell cat, Sadie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carol and Nell Gray Williams; and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Williams Sr., and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Gray, all formerly of Prentiss.
Her mother, "Miss Nell" often told her, "I don't know how your Daddy managed to fight in World War II without you to tell him what to do." All those she leaves behind wonder "How on earth" they'll manage without Belle to provide direction.
Funeral services will be Sunday, July 25, 2010, at 4:00 pm at Saulters Moore Funeral Home Chapel in Prentiss, MS. Interment immediately following at Prentiss Cemetery in Prentiss. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until service time at the funeral home.
