Graveside services for William Ervin Arnce, 94, of 430 Oakland St., were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday [June 20, 1984] at Mount Hope Cemetery with the Rev. Thurman Kelley officiating. Burial was under the direction of Simpson Funeral Home.
Mr. Arnce died at 11:10 p.m. Sunday [June 17, 1984] at St. Luke’s Rest Home, Carthage, after a long illness.
He was born June 7, 1890, at Seneca. He retired from DuPont Co. 29 years ago. He attended Calvary Baptist Church. He was a member of Carterville Masonic Lodge.
His wife, Edith Arnce, died in 1962.
Surviving are three sons, Harvey E. Arnce, Joplin, Robert D. Arnce., Tabor Woods, and James Arnce, Nederland, Texas; one daughter, Mrs. Elois McClung, Joplin; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
