Daughter of Capt. Gideon Lathrop (1805-1877) of Stockport. In 1856 she married in Stockport Francis Horatio Stott, son of the Woolen mill owner, Jonathan Stott, who operated mills just up Claverack Creek from Stockport in Stottville.

The family's strong Stockport connections brought strong links between St. Barnabas in Stottville, and the Church of St. John the Evangelist in Stockport, where Francis Horatio was a vestryman. She and her husband, together with all children except Arthur Curtis and Louis Noble (1875-1926) are buried in the cemetery of St. John the Evangelist in Stockport.
