Lydia Bush was born in Kentucky, July 9, 1830.
In her native state nearly 70 years ago, Lydia was married to S. B. Hogan. Ten years later they moved to Valley Falls, Kansas. Mr. Hogan died seven years ago, and on May 1, 1917, at the age of 86 years, 9 months and 22 days, Mrs. Hogan passed on.
She is survived by four daughters and four sons, Mrs. Geo. Corkadel, William R., Mrs. John Corkadel, Mrs. Roy Price, Mrs. Geo. J. M. Royer, Sherman and Elmer of Valley Falls and J. D. of Montana, and one brother, Wm. Reynolds of Atchison.
The funeral was held from Christian church this Thursday afternoon, the Rev. C. H. Kimball conducting the services.
Those from abroad who attended the funeral were Wm. Reynolds, and T. J. Schleppey of Atchison, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Corkadel of Kansas City, Mrs. Laura Sanders of Topeka.

She was a sister to Gen. George Armstrong Custer's civilian scout, Charles Alexander "Lonesome Charley" Reynolds, who was killed at the Battle of the Little Big Horn in 1876.
