west then. He lived with his daughter, in 1870, in Grandview, Tx. This
daughter was Susan Belle Peacock Brazell (later O'Rear) Alfred is not on
the 1880 census.

RECEIVED TWO 80 ACRE LAND GRANTS WHILE LIVING IN CADDO PAR-
RISH, LA. HE APPLIED FOR A PENSION AND RECEIVED $8.00 A MONTH.
HE DID NOT RECEIVE THE PENSION UNTIL 1875, WHEN HE WAS 80
YEARS OLD.
THE FAMILY APPEARS TO BE PART OF A GROUP THAT LEFT ALABAMA
AFTER 1845. WE KNOW THE GROUP WAS LIVING IN MISSISSIPPI AND
LOUISIANA BEFORE MOVING TO ARKANSAS IN 1854, WHERE THE
PEACOCK FAMILY LIVED FOR ABOUT 11 YEARS.
ACCORDING TO MILLER CO., ARKANSAS TAX ROLLS,ALFRED OWNED
TWO SEPERATE PLOTS OF LAND IN THAT COUNTY IN 1854, 1860
AND 1862. IN 1865 TAX RECORDS SHOW HE OWNED 320 ACRES LAND
VALUE, $480.00, 2 HORSES-$100.00, 9 CATTLE OVER 2YRS OLD,
$72.00, TOTAL WORTH- $672.00. IN 1868, 320 ACRES, VALUE-
$480,00, NO ANIMALS.
THE APPARENT LEADER OF THIS GROUP WAS JOHN MONROE ANDERSON.
ANDERSON, HIS WIFE, MALINDA BRYAN AND DAUGHTER MARTHA, WHO
WAS MARRIED TO ALFRED'S SON, JOHN ERWIN PEACOCK, CAME TO
JOHNSON CO., TEXAS ABOUT 1864 OR 1865, WHILE JOHN ERWIN
PEACOCK WAS STILL SERVING IN THE CONFEDERATE ARMY. (Medical disability
granted in 1863 to John E. Peacock)
WE BELIEVE ALFRED CAME TO JOHNSON COUNTY WITH HIS DAUGHTER,
SUSAN (PEACOCK) BRAZELL AND FAMILY BETWEEN 1865 AND 1868.
ALFRED IS SHOWN IN THE BRAZELL HOUSEHOLD IN THE 1870
CENSUS OF JOHNSON COUNTY. HE IS NOT SHOWN ON THE 1880
JOHNSON COUNTY CENSUS. WE BELIEVE ALFRED DIED BETWEEN 1875
AND 1880 AND IS BURIED IN AN UNMARKED GRAVE IN THE LARAMORE
CEMETERY NEAR GRANDVIEW IN JOHNSON COUNTY. WE ALSO BELIEVE
LOVINIA (BRADLEY) PEACOCK IS BURIED IN MILLER COUNTY
ARKANSAS. WHETHER ALFRED AND SELY KEATING HAD ANY CHILDREN
IS NOT KNOWN, BUT WE BELIEVE THAT MOLTON PEACOCK, WHO WAS
THE RIGHT AGE AND TRAVELLED AND LIVED WITH THE GROUP, IS
THEIR SON. ELIZABETH PEACOCK WHO MARRIED WILLIAM BECKHAM
MAY ALSO BE THEIR CHILD.
