BEAUCHAMP, BARBARA W. Mrs. Barbara Waldron Beauchamp, 72, a resident of White Springs, FL, died at Shands of Gainesville on May 10, 2008, after a lengthy illness. A native of Columbia County, she was the daughter of the late A.P. and Annie Belle Walker Waldron. She worked at the Stephen Foster Folk Center for 33 years and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of White Springs. Mrs. Beauchamp was very active in the AWANA Program and involved with the young children of the community. She was a volunteer of the Citizens Support Organization for the Stephen Foster State Folk Culture Center, helping start and promote the Folk Festivals in 1979. In 1999 Mrs. Beauchamp was awarded the Florida Folk Heritage Award for her years of dedicated service in the advocacy of folk life. She also served on the White Springs Historical Society and was instrumental in getting houses placed on the National Register. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by two brothers Mallory and Hale Waldron. Mrs. Beauchamp is survived by her loving husband of 54 years: Paul Beauchamp, her son: Paul Richard "Rickey" Beauchamp ( Pam), of Lake City, Fl ; two daughters: Pam Hyde (Kim) of Lake City, Fl. and Bebe Willis ( Glynn) of Live Oak, Fl.; one sister Virginia Williams; Seven grandchildren: Heather (Drew) Law, Brooke Hammock (Ross), Trey Beauchamp, Derek Hyde, Rachel Newsome, Haley Hyde, and Christie Newsome; Two great grandchildren: Drew and Riley Law. Funeral services will be conducted at the First Baptist Church of White Springs on Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at 11:00 A.M . with Reverend Lowell O'Steen and Reverend Ron Thompson officiating. Visitation with the family will be Monday evening at The First Baptist Church of White Springs from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be made to the First Baptist Church of White Springs, P. O. Box 181, White Springs, FL 32096.
