FUNERAL FOR MRS. SARAH E. BROWN, 89

Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Pleasant Ridge church for Mrs. Sarah Emil Brown, a resident for nearly 70 years in the Baring community, who died at the family home 4 miles west of Baring Wednesday morning at 11:40 o'clock. Death was due to the infirmities of age, Mrs. Brown being nearly 89 years of age.

Services were conducted by the Rev. W. W. Webb, pastor of the Baptist Church at Edina.

Mrs. Brown was born in Dark County, Ohio, May 30, 1845, the daughter of Samuel and Matilda Skinner Emil. She was married Dec. 15, 1864, to David Brown, and they came to Missouri and settled near Baring shortly after their marriage. Thirteen children were born of the union, seven of whom survive their mother. Her husband died May 22, 1917.

The surviving children are John R. Brown of Danbury, Mo.; Mrs. Mary Plympton of Arroyo Grande, Calif., Lafe Brown of Baring, Mo.; Mrs. C. D. Cooper of Brashear; E. J. Brown, E. O. Brown and Mrs. Everett Rowlison, all of Baring. The late Frank Brown, of Baring, was a son. She also leaves 42 grandchildren and 43 great grandchildren. - Kirksville Express, Feb. 1.
