PENNEBAKER
Dr. Frank Pennebaker died at Pleasant Hill last Wednesday night. He was born near Shepardsville, Bullitt county, in 1839. After his father's mother's and brother's death, all of whom died within one week of each other, he, with his brother and sister, was brought to this county by his uncle, Dr. Shane, and placed at Shakertown, where he lived until his death. He was the first resident dentist in Mercer county. In his death the Society of Shakers has lost one of its most valued members and the county one of its most substantial citizens. For 20 years he and his brother, Dr. William Pennebaker, have had the management of the Society of Shakers. Dr. W. M. Wood, of the Baptist church, preached the funeral services Friday afternoon. A large number of friends from this place attended the obsequies. The pall-bearers were Messrs. W. J. Poteet, George Bohon, B. L. Hardin, J. T. Wilson , B. F. Roach and Dwight Rue.
