Alice Hopkins Gaskins, widow of Richard Andrew Gaskins, born July 13, 1912 in Richmond, VA, where she lived until 1950, died August 16, 2008. She is survived by daughters Barbra Skelton and Jan Brown. Grandchildren, Lorraine Skelton, Stuart Skelton and wife Corbin, and Christy Payne Calkins and husband Zach. Great grandchildren include Arietta, Judah, Abilene and Luke. A sister-in-law, Catherine Hopkins, survives, as well as many special friends. Alice was a charter member of the Baptist (Integris) Volunteer organization, joining in the late 1950s. She was given a lifetime membership and received honors for the many hours she worked. She was a member of the Southern Baptist church all her life, first joining as a child in Richmond, VA.
