Mr. Roesler was born in Hemsdorpf, Bohemia, November 24, 1824. He was raised on a farm and received a common school education. He was married in 1852 to Miss Rosina Oys, who survives him. Nine children were the result of this union, of which there are two boys and four girls living. He removed from Bohemia to Nebraska in 1879, settling on a farm near Ohiowa, and a few years after removed to Madison Township where he has since resided. He was taken ill last spring with yellow jaundice and later on with dropsey, which was the direct cause of his death.
