WELCH, JOYCE C. - of Morristown, Tennessee, passed away on March 6, 2012. She was born August 7, 1935, in Scott County, TN. She was the oldest child of Reverend Roe and Nan Chitwood. She graduated from Cumberland College in 1953. She married William H. Welch on June 24, 1955, and they were married 56 years. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Morristown and the Bethany Sunday School class. She is survived by her loving family: husband, William H. Welch; daughter and son-in-law, Bill and Melissa Charles of Knoxville, TN; son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Anna Welch of Rushville, IN; daughter, Cecilia Welch of Atlanta, GA; grandsons, Seth and Andrew Charles of Knoxville, TN, Marc Harris of Portland, OR., great granddaughter, Chelsea Charles of Knoxville, TN; sister, Pat Robbins of Sumter, SC; brother, Jerry Chitwood of Indian Land, SC; and several nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2012. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Morristown, with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 p.m. with Reverend Danny Georges and Dr. Dean Haun officiating. Family and friends will meet Friday, March 9, 2012 at Jellico Cemetery for interment services at 11:00 a.m. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Bill Charles, Seth Charles, Andrew Charles, Kyle Thompson, Tom Kaylor, and Phil Bradfute. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to "Fulfilling the Legacy", at First Baptist Church of Morristown, TN. Allen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
